Everyone gambles at some point of their lives.
Hold on before you question my statement.I'm not talking about casinos and stuff. Isn't life after all a game of chance? Think about when you step out of the house. For all you know some air-con may just land on you, a random projectile may just hit you smack right in the face or even worse, your neighbour below may just forget to turn the stove off at 12am and you won't even realise why you're in some unfamilar place.
Since life is a gamble, why not place high stakes? Afterall, we aren't cats, we only got 1 life so why not live it to the fullest? Those who smoke, drink, take dopes are pure idiots or you may consider them to be smart since they're buying an express ticket to god knows where.
I've always believed in this theory. That is if one has big aims, he will definitely make it big. Thats provided that he at least works for it.
I wonder if its the exposure to the working life that set me thinking about what I wish to become in future. I don't envision myself screwing others up as a lawyer. Ok the previous sentence might be wrong so let me rephrase. I don't see the possibility of me getting a law degree. Afterall, all lawyers are married, to their job that is. Being married has some really serious consequences.
1. Your friends will ditch you
2. You have totally no time for yourself
3. You will be exhausted daily entertaining your spouse
4. You cannot have 'extra-marital' affairs
The list could just go on but I can't be bothered to type all that out. Of the 4 points I've listed, point 4 is by far the worst. It applies both to being married to your job and being married to a real, living person. It means you are tied down for life, and men take it the hardest due to some baised act called the Women's Charter.
Anyway, enough of sidetracking. Yes, being a lawyer ensures a fat paycheck. Point is, I don't see any on Forbes Lists of the world's richest people.
Lets take a look at the top 5 on the list.
1. Warren Buffett - Investment
2. Carlos Slim - Telecom
3. Bill Gates - Microsoft
4. Lakshmi Mittal - Steel
5. Mukesh Ambani - Oil
Being a lawyer by profession will by no means put me within the league of these guys. The only way will be to start a business. What kind of business, I do not know at the moment but what I do know is that when I strike at the right moment, (fill this up with your imagination). Afterall, if we think big, we'll be able to make it big.
